Warriors Tie in Opener

Ottumwa -- Playing their first match of the season and their first contest on the new IHCC soccer field, the Indian Hills women had to settle for a 1-1 tie with the William Penn JV on Sunday.

Both teams scored their lone goal in the second half and then battled through two scoreless overtime periods.

The Indian Hills tally came when Ashley Jordan scored off a pass from Jessica Ghotra at the 69-minute mark.  That matched a goal that William Penn had scored earlier in the half.

Stephanie Smiley and Ashley Hartnedy shared the goalkeeping duties for IHCC and each had six saves.
